ProCinema 600 Subwoofer/Satellite System--An Affordable Miracle!
The ProCinema 600 System is Definitive's most affordable 6-piece home theater system incorporating 4 identical easy to place satellite speakers for front and surround channels, a matching center channel loudspeaker and a robust powered subwoofer. But don't let its small size and affordable price fool you—the ProCinema is a remarkably sophisticated product with huge sound. The system's components incorporate many of the same technologies as Definitive's top-of-the-line models including BDSS drivers, pure aluminum dome tweeters, planar pressure coupled mid/bass radiators and a 250-Watt powered subwoofer for home theater sound quality that will astound your friends and family when they hear your system for the first time.
The Secret to Their Big Sound
Competing satellite speakers of this size usually have weak lower-midrange response; that part of the audio range that contains the "warmth" and "body" of voices and musical instruments. Listen to a male vocal on typical small satellite speakers and you will instantly
hear what we mean. The ProCinema satellites avoid this critical problem by pressure-coupling our exclusive Balanced Double Surround System (BDSS) technology driver to an equal-sized mid/bass radiator cleverly placed on the top of the satellite. This technique doubles the lower-midrange radiating area of the speaker without increasing the size of the enclosure. You"ll enjoy the kind of rich, warm and life-like sound quality that you thought was only possible with big, hard to place speakers.
Center Channel Muscle
As much as 75% of a movie's soundtrack is played by the center channel loudspeaker making it arguably the most important speaker in a home theater system. It is the key to getting intelligible dialog and true-to-life sound effects. So we lavished extra attention on the ProCinema 600's center speaker. It features 2 of the same BDSS drivers as the satellites along with 2 mid/bass radiators on the sides of the enclosure, allowing it to play loud and clear with high tonal accuracy.
Big Beefy Bass
The Low Frequency Effects of a movie's soundtrack bring excitement, realism and just plain fun to action, adventure and sci-fi movies. Worry not, Definitive has bass down pat. The ProCinema 600's subwoofer features a 250 Watt amplifier driving a high excursion 8 inch woofer that is pressure-coupled to an 8 inch Low Bass radiator on the bottom of the enclosure. The net radiating area of the 600 sub is 27% greater than a single 10 inch woofer but with better speed, pitch definition and control.

Easy to Place, Easy to Use
Small enough to disappear in a room but beautiful when in plain view the 600 satellites can be shelf-mounted with their unique tri-lobed base, wall-mounted using the built-in keyhole mount or optional ProMount 80 pivot mount or stand mounted with their optional floor stands. The center channel speaker has an adjustable foot for shelf mounting or can be wall-mounted using two optional ProMount 80 articulating brackets.
To make adjusting the subwoofer's output as easy as possible we placed the sub volume control on the side of the subwoofer's enclosure.
The Sound
Sonically, the new ProCinema 600 System is a revelation in terms of achieving incredible sound at an affordable price. Their imaging is absolutely boxless, spacious and three dimensional while delivering pinpoint specificity and localization when called for. They are velvety smooth with you-are-there presence which is hard to find at any price and unheard of in this price range. The 600 system is dynamic but capable of great subtlety so it excels equally with music or movies.
The ProCinema 600 is a complete 5.1 channel system. Its component parts are not available separately. If you wish to assemble a 7.1 channel system based around the ProCinema 600, purchase a ProCinema 600 system plus a pair of ProMonitor 800 satellites. Use the ProMonitor 800s as front the left & right speakers and the ProCinema 600 satellites as side and rear surround speakers.

"[I] have been blown away by their accuracy, smoothness, and their ability to blend seemlessly with the subwoofer..."
The diminutive size of these speakers belie their immense output. The fit and finish of this system is far beyond anything in it's very reasonable price range, and I have compared them to many different brands in listening rooms. Though small in size, each speaker has a real heft, a fact which has a direct relationship with every warm sound that radiates from these marvels. Clearly, the designers at Definitive did not just fill these things with sand, their substance is a result of beefy magnets, internal bracing, and very solid enclosures. I have this system connected to a high current amplifier, and have been blown away by their accuracy, smoothness, and their ability to blend seemlessly with the subwoofer (which is fast and accurate for music, and very powerful for movies.) When listening to Spiderman 2, the scene where Doc Oc initiates a fusion reaction literally made me jump from my seat, and I rewound the scene several times, amazed at how powerful and clean a sound was coming out of these speakers. I have them set up in a room 18x20 feet, and they have more than enough power to rock the room.I Highly recommended this system, and the wall mounting brackets that Definitive makes for these are very well constructed.
Sincerely;

"...the closest I've heard to perfect sound without spending thousands more"
I have owned B&W and M&K equipment prior to purchasing these speakers. I was looking for something small due to the contemporary setting of the room, and the fact that large speakers would 'detract from the decor'. I chose an Integra receiver to power them, which I picked up at the same time. These little gems are like nothing I ever expected. They are crisp, clean, and accurate beyond any speaker I have ever heard that is this size. In 2005 I purchased a 7.1 Polk Audio surround system, complete with huge tower speakers as the front right and front left. Even when only using the front two DefTechs, the center, and the sub, these are 5 times the accuracy, crispness, and level of sound the Polks produced. Not even in the same ballpark - no question. If you're limited on space, or just don't want to spend a bunch of cash, these are the best option out there. They are the closest I've heard to perfect sound without spending thousands more. I will be recommending these to everyone I know, as I'm sure they'll be asking after they hear them. If you're reading this review, you're already interested. Just buy them - you will never regret it.
"These speakers ROCK!!!"
These speakers ROCK!!! The sound reproduction is Clean, Crisp and Sharp! The Sup shakes the house. Excellent sound reproduction at all sound levels.
"amazing for the price and size"
Best Home Theater Speaker Set
Purchased a Denon Receiver with Audyssey software to calibrate the sound in a large, vaulted ceiling room. After calibration, the sound that comes from the speakers is pretty amazing for the price and size. Listened to Definitive at Magnolia HT Section at best Buy and compared against Polk, Mirage, etc. and this was the most complete system by far. highly recommended.
"A fantastic value"
I recently bought a set of ProCinema 600 home theater speakers/subwoofer and just finished watching the movie Blood Diamond. I must commend you all for creating an incredibly well constructed system at a fantastic value. Knowing that this is your lowest end speaker system is even more impressive. I've owned a bunch of speakers over the years including Boston Acoustics Mirage and Bose, and my ear is reasonably attuned to knowing good sound when I hear it. It took a couple of weeks to get the subwoofer tweaked just right for my ear
"Absolutely love these speakers!"
Just got these speakers and love them. The clarity and crispness of sound is much better than my old Bose AM7 speakers. Coupled with a Denon receiver, it feels like the action is happening inside the room and the actors are standing right next to me. Absolutely love these speakers!
"an absolute must for anyone wanting superb sound at a reasonable price!"
I have owned the Pro Cinema 600 Home Theater speakers for almost a year now and these speakers are an absolute must for anyone wanting superb sound at a reasonable price! The clarity and the sound quality is second to none when it comes to speakers of this size and price. I have these speakers matched with a quality Denon receiver and the power and clarity I get is unbelievable to say the least. I have recommended these speakers to everyone and a few friends have taken my advice and purchased the Pro Cinema 600 series for themselves. I also worked in a Best Buy Magnolia Home Theater location so my eyes and ears have been trained to hear many subtle differences, and there is no doubt that these speakers are well worth every penny spent!
"I could not believe what I was hearing."
Absolutely Remarkable! I was in the midst of downsizing my home and had to get rid of my BP7004's that I treasured. I sold them to a fella that was upgrading his HT. Out of conversation curiosity, I asked him what would the BP7004s would replace and he told me his ProCinema 600. That struck fireworks in my mind! I was able to negotiate some money off and he allotted the PC 600 front right, left, and center channels. After running the Audessey setup on my Onkyo TX SR805 at 130w per channel, I could not believe what I was hearing. The clarity and clean sound of Def Technology was running through my home again. I took the option 1 setup by coupling them to my previous bought Super Cube I and I can testify that I don't miss my towers at all with these towers. The imaging is a bit more precise and sharp that complemented by the thunders of the Super Cube I. Thank you Def Technology for exceeding the standards for this price range and quality of speaker for its size for people that don't have the space to accommodate larger speakers.
We love these speakers. We replaced a Bose Lifestyle 48 system and have absolutely no regrets. The sound quality is awesome. The size of the speakers is small enough that they don't become a "visible distraction" to our entertainment system. The half-star deduction is more a reflection on the ProMount 90 articulating mounting brackets than the speakers themselves. We have the two surround speakers mounted on the ceiling using . The range of motion is limited somewhat from the ceiling position, which prevented "perfect" aiming. We can live with that, but it's something to be aware of.
